Mad Hatter Tea Party

Quite a few years ago, I had lunch at one of the famous 1800’s brasseries in Paris. As I gazed at the brass racks above the banquettes, I noticed some very old women’s’ hats hanging on hooks. Obviously, none of the stylish Parisian women eating there that day had worn them.

It was enchanting to think about all of the women who had worn them.

A few years later, I was opening a new hotel with a brasserie restaurant. I asked the staff to recreate the hat scenario. People couldn’t resist putting them on. And what we noticed was that the noise level immediately going up. They were having fun with their newfound freedom to act like someone else.

I love Alice in Wonderland. I love hats. And I love to add something to what party attendees are wearing so their fun level escalates right away.

This Mad Hatter Party involves all of your female guests making their own hat and wearing it at the party. It works great for a wedding shower or a fun girls’ luncheon.
