I’m doing this party in a month for one of my best friends and her twin sister, who are both turning a very young 75. But this party is timeless, and there are so many great decorations available. I can’t wait. And I know they can’t, either, because they’ve both got their poodle skirts!

THE INVITATION:
I used these from Zazzle, which are simple to customize for your party.

SETTING THE STAGE:
These signs are customizable and downloadable from Etsy and are a perfect sign outside.

THE WELCOME:

The women all get rhinestone cat eye glasses and everyone gets a 50’s name(tag).

THE DECOR:
I’m doing the party in a neighbor’s big backyard, with separate areas for drinks, dinner and even dancing surrounded by a long metal fence.

The waitress, the Greaser and the rock and roll banner are full size and go up on the fence, one character on either side of the banner.

These are also life-size and go on the fence behind the dining table.

THE TABLES:
These vinyl tablecloths match the table hangers on the fence behind.

I’m copying these tables, with black and white check runners and napkins, dice, records, glasses, and the ice cream sodas (I used pink Maribou instead of flowers)

I borrowed an American girl doll and got her a poodle skirt so she could decorate the center of the table I’m using for appetizers and desserts.

This 30” jukebox holds ice…and bottles of wine or beer.

THE APPETIZERS

The 50’s were not a time of gastronomy. Chips and Lipton onion soup mix, pigs in a blanket and Cheez Whiz were regulars on the cocktail circuit. And we’ll be authentic!

DINNER in a TBIRD
We’ll have cheeseburgers and fries in these adorable pink Tbird cardboard boxes. It’s a diner, after all!

DESSERT:
I found so many cake designs, but these were my favorites:

I found a lot of vintage candy, which I’ll lay out on the dessert table

Stay tuned…I’ll post the pictures on Facebook in a month.
